God’s Faithfulness In The Philippines

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. The Lord was so faithful and He deserves all of the glory for what He accomplished through this mission trip (Psalm 115:1 “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!”). I arrived home on Tuesday night with a renewed sense of vision and passion to reach the nations through crusade evangelism. Here are some of the highlights and a few testimonies of God’s faithfulness:

Testimony #1: The Harvest Fields Are White

My heart was overwhelmed by the love that the Filipino believers displayed to me, to each other, and to the lost. There were over 800 churches involved in this four day outreach. It began two years ago after a typhoon hit the Bicol Region and devastated thousands of lives. Approximately 30 people from various denominations gathered together to pray and plead with God to bring revival to their land. After two years of praying and laboring, they saw the amazing fruit of God’s grace being poured out on their land. Over the course of four evenings 100,000 people gathered from hundreds of miles away to worship Jesus Christ and to listen to His Gospel preached by Will Graham (Billy Graham’s grandson). 25,000 people came forward in response to the Gospel and will now be contacted by local pastors and laypeople. Thousands of souls were saved. Jesus said, “Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest” (John 4:35). I feel a great burden on my heart to return to the Philippines and to conduct more outreaches, to strengthen the Church, and to spread a vision for World Missions. Please join with me in prayer. Testimony #2: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14).

The second day that I was in the Philippines I conducted outreaches in the center of Naga City. I met a young man named Pilo while I was handing out tracts and inviting people to come to the Celebration. He asked if he could help me hand out invitations. After working hard and reaching hundreds of people, I inviting him to lunch. He shared with me that his entire family, dad, mom, sister, and brother, were all killed in a car accident when he was 14 years old. He now lives with a very poor widow and her children and works odd jobs to try to help feed them. Pastor Bong (my good friend and Filipino pastor) and I asked if we could visit his home. He agreed. During the drive to his home, I saw children scavenging through the garbage to try to find pieces of metal to sell so that they could buy food. Pastor Bong told me that this was one of the poorest neighborhoods of Naga City.

After arriving at his home, I was soon surrounded by a mob of children. They were all curious to know what we were doing in their village. I began handing each child an invitation to our Saturday morning KidsFest outreach. This is a special outreach where over 13,000 children come to play games and hear the Gospel. I could tell by their faces that they all wanted to come, but I could also see sadness. One child said to me, “We can’t come because we don’t have a ride.” My heart broke. They were too poor to pay for a ride to the event. I prayed a short prayer and asked God to use me to bless these children. I turned to Pastor Bong and said, “I believe the Lord wants to use me to pay for the buses to get these children to the outreach.” It gave me so much joy on Saturday morning to see over 40 children climbing into buses to go hear the Gospel.

God wants to use our lives. I want my life to make a difference. I want to touch people with the love of Jesus Christ. Thank you for praying and giving to my mission so that we can see many souls saved for His glory.

Below is a picture of some of the children that came to the outreach. Please pray for the seeds that were planted in their lives. May they be the next generation to take the Gospel to the Philippines and to the ends of the earth.

Testimony #3- “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19)

Before I left for the Philippines, I asked the Lord to send me a helper. I was hoping that he would be Filipino and that he would speak the language and know the land. When I arrived it wasn’t clear who would be my assistant. So I prayed and asked God to raise up a Timothy (Paul brought the young Timothy as his helper on his missionary journeys). Then I met Pilo. As I mentioned above, we randomly met on the street and then I visited his home. I asked him if he would be interested in helping me during my stay in the Philippines. He was very excited to help. The Lord gave me a great love for this young man. I began to see a tenderness in his heart towards the Gospel. During our second day working together we were at the outreach office visiting with Pastor Lorenzo and Pastor Ricardo (Filipino pastors that I became good friends with). Pastor Lorenzo asked if Pilo was saved. I said, “I don’t think so.” I had shared with Pilo earlier but I wasn’t sure if he completely understood me. Pastor Lorenzo said, “We need to share with him the Good News of Jesus Christ!” I asked Pastor Lorenzo if he would be willing to share with Pilo in his native language. The two of them went into a room and for one hour Pastor Lorenzo shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with Pilo. Pastor Ricardo and I fervently prayed for God to open Pilo’s heart while Pastor Lorenzo shared. By God’s amazing grace, Pilo came out of the room born again. We could see the joy beaming from his face as he realized the love of Jesus Christ.

For the next 10 days I was able to disciple Pilo. Pastor Ricardo and Pastor Lorenzo became very interested in helping Pilo. They have a church near Pilo’s village and they will be discipling him and caring for him.

God wanted to send a Timothy to help me in the Philippines. By His amazing grace, He saved Pilo and used him in my life in a mighty way. I love seeing God save sinners, fill them with His joy, and then mold them and shape them into the next generation that will be radical for Christ.

Please pray that Pilo would surrender his entire life to Christ and that Christ would be mightily glorified through this young man. May God give us many more disciples for the sake of His glory. Below is a picture at the outreach with Pilo and two other young men who assisted me (Hurry and Haggai). Pilo is kneeling on the ground. To God be the glory!

I thank God for all of you and for your prayers and support. I pray that in the days to come we will see a great harvest of souls for the sake of the glory of Jesus Christ. Please pray for opportunities to continue to go to the nations to preach the Gospel.

May we love Jesus Christ with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. May He be our one consuming desire and may His name be great in our lives and among the nations.

“Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore PRAY EARNESTLY to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." (Matthew 9:37-38)

Village and City Outreach

Thank you so much for your prayers. God is doing great things here in the Philippines. This morning we went to the town square and gave out invitations to the Celebration (the Celebration begins on Thursday night and runs until Sunday). We had about 20 youth working with us today and we gave out more than 4000 invitations to the Celebration and shared the Gospel with hundreds of people. Hearts were very open to the Gospel. What joy. Here’s a picture of one of the youth witnessing at the bus station.

After our time at city square, we went to one of the poorest neighborhoods in this area. Below is a picture of some of the youth from that village. They wanted to come to the children’s outreach (KidsFest) on Saturday but they don’t have enough money for a bus ticket. Pastor Bong and I are working on hiring a bus to come to this village in order to pick up a busload of them. It gave me so much joy to know that God led me to this village for the purpose of hiring a bus so that these children can come hear about Jesus. These are things that change people’s lives. We are expecting about 20,000 children to come and to hear the Gospel on Saturday morning.

Praise reports:

1. Many people are hearing the Gospel and God is moving on hearts.

2. Christ is raising up youth who have a passion for Christ and are bold in sharing their faith.

3. I’m healthy; sleep and stomach are normal (this is truly a grace of God!)

4. The churches are united for the sake of reaching the lost here in the Philippines. More than 800 churches are involved in this outreach and are excited.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for many more people to be born again through our street witnessing and preaching.

2. For strength, wisdom, and eyes focused on Jesus for all of the Billy Graham workers. They are working tirelessly in order to pull this off.

3. For a great revival to take place in the Philippines.

Let these words be our prayer for the Philippines and for the nations:

Isaiah 43:4-7 “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. 6 I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, 7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

Father, please bring into Your Kingdom Your sons and daughters. Please command that Your loved ones, Your bride, be given up from darkness, sin, and Satan. Let them come from the ends of the earth, whom You created for Your glory, because You are WORTHY. Open the Lifegate that all may come in, come into Christ and find eternal life! In Jesus Name.

He is Worthy of Worship in the Philippines!

I’m so thankful that the Lord reminded me this morning of His death and resurrection accomplished on my behalf. Happy Good Friday! It is sobering, humbling, and comforting to feel afresh the love of Christ displayed on the cross. I pray that you will feel and know that love today.

Thank you for your prayers regarding the preaching of the Gospel yesterday. The Lord moved powerfully. I preached on the seven last sentences of Christ on the cross. They are deserving of much meditation:

1. "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." Luke 23: 34 2. "This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise." Luke 23:43
3. "Woman, behold thy son." John 19: 26-27
4. "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46
5. "I thirst." John 19:28.
6. "It is finished." John 19:30
7. "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" Luke 23:46

God granted repentance and brokenness to some of the listeners at the outreach yesterday. The seven churches involved were very blessed, encouraged, and built up. Your prayers were answered. Praise God! Here’s some pictures of the outreach…

This was a skit that the teens did of Christ’s crucifixion. It was very powerful.

In the evening there were thousands of people in the streets celebrating Maundy Thursday. The churches were filled with people late into the night. I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with a mother and her daughter while standing beside the cross you see in the picture below. They were very eager to hear about how the death and resurrection of Christ has changed my life. I explained that a person is saved by faith alone apart from works (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that a person needs to be born again to see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3). God was opening their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. This was icing on the cake for me last night. What an amazing day! What an amazing God!

Please pray:

1. For those who received the Gospel that the Word may go deep in their hearts and many would be born again

2. For strength for the team to continue to labor with eyes fixed on Jesus, having a spirit of prayer, humility, love, and faith.

3. For open doors to continue to strengthen churches through preaching before the Celebration next week.

4. For many souls to be reached through this outreach.

The Spirit is moving here and He is strengthening His Church through this work. May we see a great revival in the Philippines and to the nations. Love you all!

What Manner of Men Will Take This World For Christ?

George Whitefield, one of the world’s greatest evangelists, asked God to raise up a certain type young men who would be radical for Jesus. This is my prayer today as well.

He prayed “. . . that He will again raise up unto Himself certain young men whom He may use in this glorious employ [revival]. And what manner of men will they be? Men mighty in the Scriptures, their lives dominated by a sense of the greatness, the majesty and holiness of God, and their minds and hearts aglow with the great truths of the doctrines of grace. They will be men who have learned what it is to die to self, to human aims and personal ambitions; men who are willing to be ‘fools for Christ’s sake’, who will bear reproach and falsehood, who will labour and suffer, and whose supreme desire will be, not to gain earth’s accolades, but to win the Master’s approbation when they appear before His awesome judgment seat. They will be men who will preach with broken hearts and tear-filled eyes, and upon whose ministries God will grant an extraordinary effusion of the Holy Spirit, and who will witness ‘signs and wonders following’ in the transformation of multitudes of human lives.”

On of the first stops we made was to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. It was very encouraging to see the cross of Christ at the memorial as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice given.

Ukraine For Christ Update

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit”, says the Lord (Zech. 4:6)

We have had an amazing trip. God has been so faithful to us. The team is strong and united in Christ through prayer and laboring for souls. God has been so gracious to open the hearts of the people in Ukraine to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Above is a picture of one of our outreach camps in the villages. We are holding four camps and reaching out to over 300 children. The Spirit of the Lord has been moving powerfully and we have seen kids touched by the power of the Gospel. This is a picture of me presenting the Gospel. Look at how God was gripping their hearts during the Gospel presentation. His Spirit powerfully moved today on these children.

After the children's camp we go into the villages and do evangelism. Words cannot describe what we have witnessed. So many hearts are ripe for the harvest. The woman in the yellow is the village librarian. Tomorrow we will give her Bibles and books from Desiring God and she has joyfully agreed to put them in the library for the people to read. The man with the sweater is Vladmir (82 years old). He's holding a "For Your Joy" in Russian and he was very receptive to the Good News (thank you Desiring God for your gifts).

This is a picture of the outreach we had on Sunday night at Slavik's church (one of the pastors we are working with). Duane is giving a Bible to a Ukrainian couple who came to hear to the Good News.

This is a picture from the teen camp that we held from Wednesday to Saturday. Look at these young adults digging into God's Word. We had about 50 teens come and many had never heard the Gospel before.

This is a picture of the last night of the teen camp. I taught the Gospel throughout the week during large group time and then we would break into small groups. The Spirit was upon all of us throughout our time with the teens.

In spite of the rain and many other attacks, the Gospel went forth with power. The teens in this picture are nailing their sins to the cross of Christ. God broke many hearts and brought faith to the teens. I remember praying and holding many teens in my arms who were weeping tears of repentance because of Christ's amazing love on the cross.

Praise and Prayer Requests:

1. Many more children to repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ in the villages of Kaniv, Letvenets, and Bobritza where children's camps are being held. We have two days of camps left.

2. Please pray specifically for the village of Letvenets. By God's grace, many hearts have been receptive to the Gospel while doing evangelism and the children's ministry. Please pray for a pastor to come and plant a church in this village.

3. Many teens came to Christ through the teen camp. Please pray for their faith to be strengthened and for more teens to accept Christ. Saturday night we will have an outreach/reunion with the teens.

4. There will be a pastor's meeting and asister's meeting on Thursday night. Pray for believers to be united and strengthened in Christ. Pray for wisdom with the message and may there be a mighty outpouring of His Spirit upon us for the sake of His glory.

I love you all and I'm so thankful for you. May Christ continue to be glorified through our lives and may He fill us with His everlasting love! There is no greater joy than winning souls for Christ. May He give us a harvest for His glory!

India Mission Trip

Resting In His Arms

Last night I had the incredible blessing of watching my good friend hold his one year old son in His arms. The little boy just laid there with such a peace and surrender. He was resting in his father's strength of love. It reminded me of how Jesus holds us with a tender, strengthening love. It's not by chance that this morning my devotional prayer book, Valley of Vision (http://www.christianbook.com), said this:

"Blessed Lord,
let me climb up near to thee,
and love, and long, and plead, and wrestle with thee,
and pant for delvierance from the body of sin,
for my heart is wandering and lifeless,
and my soul mourns to think
it should ever lose sight of its beloved.
Wrap my life in divine love,
and keep me ever desiring thee,
always humble and resigned to thy will,
more fixed on thyself,
that I may be more fitted for doing and suffering."

May you find rest today in the arms of Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30)

Persecution In India

As I've been preparing for my trip to India (March 19-April 1), I've been reading about the persecution that is taking place in the state of Orissa. We will be ministering about 450 miles south of there in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The city I will be in is called Vijaywada. Please pray for these pastors. The Apostle Paul said in 2nd Timothy 1:8, "Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God." The Boundless Love of Christ

This morning I was reading a book by A.W. Tozer called Knowledge Of The Holy. He said something that struck a note with my thirsty soul. He said,

"The mercy of God is infinite, and the man who has felt the grinding pain of inward guilt knows that this is more than academic. 'Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound'(Rom. 5:20). Abounding sin is the terror of the world, but abounding grace is the hope of mankind."

"Against our deep creature-sickness stands God’s infinite ability to cure.The Christian witness through the centuries has been that ”God so loved the world . . .”; it remains for us to see that love in the light of God’s infinitude. His love is measureless. It is more: it is boundless. It has no bounds because it is not a thing but a facet of the essential nature of God. His love is something He is, and because He is infinite that love can enfold the whole created world in itself and have room for ten thousand times ten thousand worlds beside. "

This, this is the God we adore,

Our faithful, unchangeable Friend,

Whose love is as great as His power,

And neither knows measure nor end.

‘Tis Jesus, the first and the last,

Whose Spirit shall guide us safe home;

We’ praise Him for all that is past,

Beholding God's Mercy

This morning God gave me a revelation about Himself that is absolutely worshipful. In Exodus 25:17-20 it says, "You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. (J.H.- one cubit equals approx 18 in.) And you shall make two cherubim (i.e. angels who worship and praise God) of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be."

The Strong's Lexicon says this about the mercy seat: "The mercy seat is the golden plate of propitiation on which the High Priest sprinkled the seat 7 times on the Day of Atonement symbolically reconciling Jehovah and His chosen people." The mercy seat was a symbol of reconciliation between God and man. Man needed mercy from a holy, righteous God because of his sin. And God, in His grace, gave mercy.

Beloved, we no longer need a symbol because we now have a Savior. Jesus Christ is our mercy seat who covers us with His sinless blood, giving us PERFECT reconciliation with God. And now we can joyfully embrace the precious promise of Hebrews 4:16; "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

Now that you have this revelation God desires a response from you. V.20 says that the Cherubim have "their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be." Why are they facing toward the mercy seat? Because as they behold God's indescribable mercy they're filled with overflowing worship and awe. A revelation of mercy will always result in a heart filled with reverent worship. Oh, to the praise of His glorious grace!

If you have repented of your sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ, you now have perfect peace with God. Through Jesus Christ you can enter the holy of holies, the inner place of intimacy with God. Go boldly and worshipfully to the throne of grace today, knowing that you have a Savior who is "seated at the right hand of the throne of God" (Heb. 12:2).

"Our God Knows and Acts"

Where is God in the midst of pain and despair? At times it can seem as if God is distant and unconcerned about our situations in life. That’s probably how Israel felt when they were in bondage to their terrible taskmasters, the Egyptians. Their oppression and grief and pain brought them to a breaking point. In Exodus 2:23 it says, “...the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.”

Notice that when they came to the end of their rope they “groaned… and cried out for help.” This was an amazing step of faith. Their oppression and grief and pain drove them to their knees. Beloved, will you take your doubt, pain, suspicion, anxiety, and grief and turn it into a sweet smelling cry of lament to God?

There are great promises of God’s deliverance, hope, and grace awaiting you today. Look at how God responded to His beloved bride. Exodus 2:24-25 says, “And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. (25) God saw the people of Israel--and God knew.”

Four promises for us today:
1. God hears- God has ears that are tuned and attentive to your cries. Your prayers are not in vain because God listens to His children (cf. 2nd Chronicles 7:14).

2. God remembers- God remembers His faithfulness to His covenant promises. God loves to display His faithfulness and therefore we must appeal to these promises in times of trouble. Pray promises like Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” or 2nd Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” or Romans 5:8, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

3. God sees- God doesn’t turn a blind eye. He sees every detail of your life. In Luke 12:7 Jesus says, “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” God's eye is on every detail of your life.

4. God knows- Your Father in Heaven knows your pain and is able to sympathize with you. Hebrews 4:15 says this about Jesus: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” By the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God entered into our pain and grief and struggle with the sin. Therefore, He is not distant or disconnected to you. He KNOWS and sympathizes with your weakness.

But God doesn’t stop at simply hearing, remembering, seeing, and knowing. He also rescues, redeems, and ransoms. He doesn’t sit back with arms tied and a disgruntled look on His face. He acts on our behalf.

For Israel, He raised up Moses to deliver them from their bondage and slavery and grief and pain. For us, He raised up Jesus on a cross and then three days later He raised Him up from death. This is the glorious good news! God enters into our world of sin and pain and grief, AND He rescues, He redeems, and He ransoms by the power of His precious blood.

What an amazing God we have in Jesus Christ. Will you take your situation and go before God with groans and cries? God hears, remembers, sees, knows, and delivers. His strong arms are wide open in Christ!

Modern Evangelism vs. Puritan Evangelism

Is our modern style of evangelism effective and biblical? J.I. Packer does an excellent job of comparing the differences between our modern style of evangelism and the puritans style of evangelism in chapter 18 of "A Quest For Holiness." I'll try to summarize.

Modern Evangelism
1. It is viewed as an "extraordinary and occasional activity" of the church (i.e. Revivals, meetings, special preachers).
2. It is decision driven.
3. It was birthed by Charles Finney in the 1820's who believed in man's ability to chose God. He did not believe in total inability-"the belief that fallen human beings are totally unable to repent, believe, or do anything spiritually good without renewing grace" (pg. 293). Bad theology drives bad evangelism. With this false teaching it is not surprising that his evangelism efforts focused on moving people's will and emotions at the expense of rightly handling the word of truth.

Puritan Evangelism
1. There was a deep conviction that "the conversion of a sinner is a gracious sovereign work of divine power" (pg. 294). The puritans loved using the term effectual calling. The Westminster Shorter Catechism, answer 31, defines effectual calling as: "the work of God's Spirit whereby, convincing us of our sin and misery, enlightening our minds in the knowledge of Christ, and renewing our will, he doth persuade and enable us to embrace Jesus Christ, freely offered to us in the gospel." There are three aspects of effectual calling.

a. It is "a work of saving grace." "It is not something man can do for himself or for another...the elect sinner is brought by the Holy Spirit into a real, vital, personal union with his covenant Head and Redeemer. It is thus a work of free mercy on God's part" (pg. 295).

b. It is "a work of divine power." Through the preaching of the Word of God the Holy Spirit enlightens and convicts the mind and births new life in the depths of the heart. "Ministers knock at the door of men's hearts, the Spirit comes with a key and opens the door. Grace is irresistible, not because it drags sinners to Christ against their will, but because it changes men's hearts SO THAT they 'come most freely, BEING MADE WILLING by grace" (Pg. 295, emphasis mine). The puritans took seriously the passages that man is "DEAD in sin (Eph. 2:1, 5; Col. 2:13), spiritually impotent (Jn 3:3, 5; 6:45; Rom 8:7; 1 Cor 2:14), radically depraved, sin's helpless slave (Rom 3:9; 6:20-22)" (Pg. 296).

c. Effectual Calling is "a work of divine freedom." "Only God can do it effect it, and he does so at his own pleasure" (Pg. 296). Romans 9:16 says, "So then it depends not on human will or exertion, BUT ON GOD, who has mercy" (emphasis mine). Why did God forbid the preaching of the gospel in Asia or Bithynia (see Acts 16:9)? Why did God save Peter and not Judas? Johnathon Edwards defines God's sovereignty as "his absolute right of disposing of all creatures according to his own pleasure" (pg. 297). "The puritans taught that knowledge and conviction of one's sin, in its guilt, pollution, and ugliness, and of God's displeasure of it, must precede faith, since no one will come to Christ to be saved from sin till he or she knows from what sins salvation is needed" (pg. 298). The puritans would never counsel a person to flee to Christ unless there was evidence of a desire to flee from sin and a knowledge of specific sins commited. They were very cautious of creating "gospel-hypocrites." "There must be contrition before conversion can result" (pg. 299).

Tract Ideas

Last night we met after evangelism and discussed writing a tract. Please comment about any of these and give me feedback. This is just the beginning of writing a tract. May Christ be glorified!
Content of Tract (We want to be faithful to the whole gospel. How can we better articulate and communicate the gospel?)

• Creator-God has rights over our life.
• Man was created in the image of God. We were created to be in an intimate, worshipful relationship with God. Man longs to fill the relational void.
• Sin is a failure to worship God for His goodness.

A failure to treasure God above all things (The lawyer asked Jesus, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.” Matthew 22:37)

• The law shows us our rebellion against God. It must be in a tract.
• What is repentance?
• Address the difference between faith and intellectual ascent. What is true faith? Jesus must be presented as more than just a “problem solver.” Is Jesus the treasure in the field that causes us to sell all and buy that field (“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44). Jesus calls us to a life of worshipping him and following him.

You can’t follow someone you don’t know. (This addresses the relational aspect as well).

• We need to have the righteous life of Christ given to us. Imputed righteousness must be a part of the tract.
• Resurrection (New life, defeat over sin, death, hell, Satan, and the stamp of approval of Christ be God and sinless). Any other ideas?
• Jesus is coming back to judge the world (“But now God commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man (Christ Jesus) whom he has appointed” Acts 17:30-31)

Various Outreach Avenues

• Build a website that has links to tracts. As unbelievers click on these tracts they would get the gospel message and there would also be FAQ’s (what about evolution? Etc.) that would link to websites with answers, like Ravi Zacharias’ site.
• This website would also have links to local churches that are Christ-exalting and bible-saturated. We need to better connect unbelievers to solid churches. This is one way.
• Make business cards with the web address and a verse (“We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” 2 Cor. 5:20)

Waiting on the Lord

Waiting on the Lord can be one of the greatest challenges that we face as Christians. Recently God has been helping to find comfort in His sovereignty over my life. Knowing that He is in complete control has helped me to trust Him more. Psalms 37:4-7 says, " Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (5) Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. (6) He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. (7) Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself...it only leads to evil!"

It is when we delight in our heavenly Father's will for our lives that we are freed from anxiety and worry. God promises to only give us what is good for us (Romans 8:28). He is a faithful Father who will act on your behalf, even when the path seems so mysterious and dark.

Will you commit your way to Jesus this day? Will you surrender all of your plans into the loving arms of a gracious Savior. If you are born-again by God's grace then God's plan is only good for you. May you cling to God's promises of goodness and mercy.
